My name is Andrea Hinman and this is my third year teaching in Troy. Before coming to Troy, I worked at a charter school in Dearborn for six years. I went to college at Wayne State University. I received my bachelors degree in Fine Arts with a concentration in Interior Design. I worked for an Architectural firm for four years as a commercial Interior Designer. I decided to return to school to pursue something more rewarding and creative. That lead me to a Masters in Art Education. I love teaching elementary art, because the students are so enthusiastic, creative and fearless in their art making. They always inspire me!
I have been married for five years to my husband Steve, who is an architectural engineer. We have a three year old son, Erik and 7 month old boy/girl twins, Evan and Elin. I also have two furry children, my dogs Kodi and Maggie. We recently purchased a house in Northeast Troy.
In my free time, I enjoy camping and traveling all around Michigan. I have traveled to Europe and the Caribbean several times also. I also enjoy kayaking, hiking, gardening, cooking, home improvement, painting, ceramics and just spending quality time with my family.
